Diana Dyer Bartlett - Hon Treasurer and Interim Chairman

Diana is currently the Finance Director of Pelamis Wave Power Limited, a private equity backed company established to develop wave energy converters. Between 2000-2007 she was company secretary of Collins Stewart Tullett plc and latterly Finance Director of Collins Stewart plc. Diana qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, worked for five years as an investment banker with Hill Samuel Bank and then worked in the coal industry for five years, latterly as Finance Director of Midlands Mining Limited, a private equity backed deep coal mining business which worked out two collieries in the Midlands. Diana was elected to the Board on 19 March 2008 and has particular reponsibility for finance.

 

Geoff Armstrong - Trustee

Geoff is an experienced banker with over thirty five years experience which included running both International Service Operations and Regional and Global Corporate & Investment Banking relationship teams for HSBC. He also represented HSBC on industry wide forum. Based in the City for most of his career, Geoff has travelled extensively and in particularly to Africa, Asian and the Middle East. He also lived and worked in Asia for four years around the turn of the millennium.  More recently Geoff has provided consultancy services in respect of the Financial Services industry.

Geoff is an active member of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers - he Chairs the City Affairs Committee, is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and has been in the past a lecturer in Finance of International Trade.

 

Elizabeth Bickham - Trustee

With some twenty years’ experience of corporate and reputation management via UK and international communications consultancies, Elizabeth has provided strategic communications counsel to a wide range of UK and international organisations including Sainsbury's, Unilever's pension fund, diverse listed and non-listed entities, professional services groups such as Ernst and Young, PwC and Latham and Watkins, as well as leading financial services organisations such as Scottish Widows, Caledonian Capital, The Chase Manhattan Bank, and GE Capital Services.   During her career Elizabeth has lived and worked in the UK, US and Norway. She was elected to the Board of Trustees on 26 September 2007 with particular responsibility for marketing, brand development and PR.

 

Sara Davenport - Founder

Sara set up Breast Cancer Haven in 1997 as a direct result of her children's nanny's experience with breast cancer. Since then, she has been a Trustee and is actively involved in the marketing, PR and business development of Breast Cancer Haven. She has more than 20 years' experience and training in the field of complementary medicine, and works both at the Haven and in her own private practice as a kinesiologist. Sara was a founding Trustee when the Board was formed on 9 December 1996. Sara holds particular responsibility for opening of new Havens and the selection of new Trustees.

 

Iain Ross BSc CDir - Chairman of the Audit Committee

Iain Ross BSc (Hons) Biochemistry, is an experienced business entrepreneur with 30 years' experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. He has held senior commercial positions with a number of multinational companies including Sandoz AG, Fisons plc, Hoffmann-La Roche AG and Celltech Group Plc. Since 1995 he has led a number of biotech turnarounds on behalf of banks and private equity groups. He has raised substantial funds both publicly and privately and has taken 4 companies public. Currently Iain is Chairman of Biomer Technology Ltd and Pharminox Limited. Iain is a Chartered Director of the UK Institute of Directors and a member of the Council of Royal Holloway College, London University. Iain was elected to the Board on 17 November 2005 and is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees.

 

Professor Dudley Sinnett MS FRCS - Trustee

Dudley Sinnett is Professor of Breast Surgery at Imperial College London. His first Consultant post was as Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Cancer Research and honorary Consultant Surgeon at the Royal Marsden Hospital. From 1989 to 2009 he worked at Charing Cross Hospital and, whilst there, became Consultant Breast Surgeon and Director of Breast Services. For the last six years, he has been the Quality Assurance Surgeon for the surgical aspects of the National Breast Screening programme in London. Dudley has been the national secretary of the British Association of Surgical Oncology and helped produce the national surgical guidelines for the treatment of breast cancer and serving on the BASO national committee. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of Breast Cancer Care and has published a number of papers on breast disease and DVDs for the BMA and the National Breast Screening programme. Dudley has particular responsibility for clinical, ethical and research matters.

 

Reet Wiseman - Trustee

Reet is an accredited professional executive coach who has more than 30 years of senior leadership and customer service experience in the travel industry in Europe, Canada, U.S. and the Middle East. She has held several senior leadership positions in Canada and the U.K. with global companies such as Sabre Holdings and American Airlines. She has directed the efforts of geographically dispersed sales, account management and training teams. She now specialises in leadership coaching helping her clients increase their personal performance and transferring this learning into results for the organisation. Her extensive international experience has prepared her to understand and relate directly to the unique challenges faced by today's leaders who work across many cultures.
