Breast Cancer Haven celebrates 10 years of supporting people with breast cancer

Thanks to your support, we have been able to provide nearly 100,000 appointments over the last 10 years and have helped over 6,000 women and their families in our 3 Havens.  Our programme addresses many of the complex issues surrounding breast cancer and Visitors can get our help during and after treatment.  Many of our therapists have worked with us since the beginning and we have developed real expertise in supporting people living with breast cancer

Outreach Programme

In 2009 we extended our reach further by launching an outreach programme “Breast Cancer Haven at Home” designed for anyone who cannot get to a Haven but would like to benefit from our programme in the comfort of their own home.

Visitor Feedback

Our in house audit shows that over 90% of Visitors who have attended Havens have rated their concerns as ‘improved’ or ‘gone’ when asked to rate the helpfulness of their therapies.  For many, the Haven experience has been a “life saver.”

Our work remains unique

We remain the only national breast cancer charity that provides such a wide range of complementary therapies and emotional support through free individualised programmes of care in our Havens and through our outreach programme.

Awards

In 2008 Breast Cancer Haven in London won the British Holistic Medical Association’s “Healing Space Award” for an environment that could support innovative, holistic healthcare.

Innovative new programmes of care

We are constantly reviewing our programme of care, taking into account Visitor feedback and evaluation of our services.  The Haven programme remains our core programme.  New programmes include the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme  and our Health and Wellbeing seminar programme.
