Pilates is an exercise system which focuses on stretching the whole body to improve balance, muscle strength, flexibility and posture.

This modified mat work Pilates class is run by  Jo Sheridan-Hawley, breast cancer exercise specialist and level 3 Pilates instructor. It is aimed at those with little or no previous pilates experience, those who have recently (within 3 months) had reconstruction, those with underlying medical issues and people who are new or recently returned to exercise. The class i will look at restoring mobility in the shoulder area and will incorporate lots of stretches and mobilisation techniques. It will focus on less challenging balances and more basic beginner exercises for abdominals, glutes and legs.
