Pilates is an exercise system which focuses on stretching the whole body to improve balance, muscle strength, flexibility and posture.

This modified mat work Pilates class is run by  Jo Sheridan-Hawley, breast cancer exercise specialist and level 3 Pilates instructor.  

While focusing on restoring range of motion first and foremost this class will also cater for those of who that want to get your fitness level back so will incorporate weights (optional) one leg balances, hip and glute strengthening exercises and some prone work to strengthen the upper back.

This is a more challenging class than the Gentle Pilates class.  You must to join it.  You should have previous exprience of pilates, and/or be confident you have a reasonable level of fitness, and be more than three months post surgery ahead of signing up to this class.

Please let Jo know at the beginning of the class if you have any pain, lymphoedema, mobility, or other health issues, and whether you've done pilates before.
