With Mary Bell, Counsellor.

We recognise that some issues particularly affect young visitors: this support group provides an opportunity for younger visitors to talk to others who may have similar concerns. Recently we have talked about fertility issues, living alone, concerns about treatment, managing a social life, feeling isolated because none of your friends understand what it is like to experience breast cancer and going back to work.  The group members decide what they would like to talk about at each meeting. At times we may explore painful issues but there is also often laughter!

Mary's her role is to facilitate the discussion and creating a safe space for visitors to explore issues which are important to them.

Most people who join the support group are aged between 20-45 years.
