Our People in West Midlands Sarah Moss – West Midlands Haven Manager Sarah has been a breast care nurse at Solihull hospital for 3 years, developing a health and wellbeing event for patients post treatment. Prior to this, Sarah was a cancer research nurse across various cancer sites and across the whole of the West Midlands for 10 years. In her spare time Sarah is an active fundraiser in the local community, having run a half marathon, boxed in an Ultra White Collar event, and directed and produced as well as acting in annual parish pantomimes for local charities. Karen Yates – Trusts & Foundations Officer – West Midlands Karen has worked within the third sector for sixteen years. She has a wide knowledge of local charitable trusts and foundations as her previous role was Trusts Officer for a Birmingham visual impairment charity. She is delighted to bring her experience to the new West Midlands team and is looking forward to raising funds for a cause close to her heart. Karen lives near Clent Hills in Worcestershire where she walks most weekends. She enjoys visits to the theatre, especially to see Matthew Bourne productions and the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Marjorie Small OBE - Information and Support Nurse Marjorie has been an oncology nurse for a number of years. Her experience has allowed her to work in the UK as well as in the Middle East where she worked with a diverse group of patients and health care professionals. Marjorie describes this experience as a 'steep learning curve' but one that she whole-heartedly embraced. Marjorie received an OBE from her Majesty the Queen in the millennium year for services to nursing. Marjorie lead a team of nurses that implemented the first sustained nurse led out-patient transplant service in the UK, reducing in-patient admission days. In her spare time Marjorie likes to read, socialise with friends and has recently started to learn to ride a bicycle. Marjorie says she feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to work for Breast Cancer Haven, supporting anyone who walks through the door of the West Midlands centre. Rachel Sullivan - Front Desk Administrator Rachel joined Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands just before it opened in October 2017 and has proudly been part of the team since then. Prior to this role, Rachel worked for 13 years in medical administration including both mutual and non-profit organisations. Rachel is married with 2 young daughters and a labrador. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and attending theatre shows.
