HRH The Prince of Wales

“I am enormously proud to be Patron of Breast Cancer Haven and to support the marvellous services that it offers to women and their families affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Haven, with its dedicated teams of staff and therapists, provides high quality support, information and complementary therapies to many individuals affected by this awful disease, and I am particularly pleased that its programme offers integrated healthcare, which means harnessing the best conventional and complementary approaches to combat both the physical and emotional effects of breast cancer and its treatment.

I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of Breast Cancer Haven’s remarkable visitors, most recently when I visited Breast Cancer Haven in Leeds in 2009, where I learned much about what a huge difference the charity has made to their lives.

I am also both moved and impressed by the staff and supporters who are so resolute in their determination to do all that they can to help improve the lives of individuals living with this dreadful disease.

This comes with my warmest congratulations to everyone who has made Breast Cancer Haven’s work possible and with immense gratitude for your efforts to make a difference for the better to the lives of all those affected by breast cancer.”

safeer bashirSafeer Bashir

Safeer’s commitment to charity started from a young age after watching his mother donate a huge amount of time in a small village in Kashmir where he grew up feeding the poor. After having lost members of his family to breast cancer he actively became passionate about Breast Cancer Haven. Starting with a simple auction of a 10 pound note which raised over £350, to his contributions at the numerous events held. He loves championing the support Breast Cancer Haven does for so many of it's participants and has many ambitions to help drive support for the charity to even bigger levels.

On a professional level Safeer is an information Technology graduate from London’s Kingston University. Safeer has had a knack for the sweet things in life from an early age. His grandfather – a successful businessman in Kashmir – would give him some of his money for Safeer to organise, count and invest. At the age of seven, his first assets were sweets and toys.

His entrepreneurial spirit grew stronger as he grew older, and he went from university straight into the Technology sector. Companies like IBM, EDS and Cable & Wireless gave him solid expertise in the area, but it was his role in spearheading the birth of global roaming exchange at Cybase, which gave him fruitful rewards in his professional career. Cybase was acquired by SAP in 2010.

Besides his charitable endeavours, Safeer invests in property around the UK, Europe and South East Asia. His success in property has led him to join the Keller Williams team and set up his franchise based in Mayfair. He plans to make his clients obtain the best commercial opportunity as he has done for himself while making sure everyone wins.

Through his worldly travels he has acquired a taste of architecture and interior design leading him to be a natural fit as a board advisor to The Longest Stay, an emporium of designer furniture through it's online site. Coincidentally Safeer met the Founder of The Longest Stay at the summer event organised for Breast Cancer Haven as The Longest Stay has also supported the work of Breast Cancer Haven.

Safeer says, “property and interiors go hand in hand. I am happy to be able to advise on both and to work together to support such a wonderful charity.”  In his own philosophy of life, “I’m open to everyone. Wherever the creation and passion is, that’s where I’ll go. I will make a difference.”
