Emilia is a Senior Broadcast Journalist at BBC News. Born in Limassol, Cyprus she began her career in radio as a sports journalist at BBC London Sport. She then became a television News Correspondent reporting on the BBC News Channel, BBC London News and BBC World. Last year she was commended as the European Rising Star Journalist of the year at the Circom Awards. Emilia is also recognised as a Match day announcer, VO artist and presenter of the BBC's Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham Podcasts. Emilia is thrilled to support Breast Cancer Haven as the host of Blush16. It is a cause close to her heart, having supported her mother and grandmother through their breast cancer journeys. This years main act will be Velma Celli; the alter-ego of West End performer Ian Stroughair. Ian has starred in the likes of Cats, Fame, Chicago and most recently RENT, for which he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Angel. As Velma, Ian has been enchanting audiences across the globe for the past four years, starring in Velma's very own musical cabaret revue show, The Velma Celli Show. . Alongside Velma, Blush16 guests can look forward to a performance from acclaimed harpist Nicola Broke. Founder of the London Harp Agency, Nicola studied at the Royal College of Music and has 20 years experience of playing in 5-star London hotels. . . . . Additionally, magicians Alan Hudson, Miss Direction and Noel Gualtor will be performing and doing what they do best - astonishing you with their exceptional and innovative magic tricks. One of the UK’s most entertaining comedy magicians, Alan Hudson has performed his very funny stand-up magic to audiences across the nation. He’s performed at London’s Leicester Square Theatre and Edinburgh Festival and has appeared on numerous TV shows such as ITV’s ‘The Next Great Magician’ and ‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us with Jonathon Ross’. . . . . . . Miss Direction, is one of only a handful of professional female close-up magicians that perform the art of magic full time. One of the most exciting and glamorous magicians in the UK, she is a stand-out performer who is guaranteed to amaze whenever she’s sprinkling her magic. . Close up table magician Noel has been working as a magician for 10 years. In that time he has performed for Saudi princes with armed guards watching on, in the basket of a hot air balloon and created custom illusions for celebrity magicians all over the world. .
