The national charity, Breast Cancer Haven, has teamed up with Maggie’s Cheltenham (College Baths Road) by providing a brand new tailored package of support for all cancer patients, four days a month, from 29 September 2017.

The one-to-one support, provided free of charge, will be available on the first, third and fourth Friday as well as the second Saturday of each month, and will include:

  • An assessment with an experienced healthcare professional, to discuss patients’ concerns and what support would be most helpful to them;
  • Therapies to help with the side-effects from cancer and its treatment, including acupuncture, aromatherapy massage and reiki;
  • Support for carers of people with cancer.

Dr Caroline Hoffman, Breast Cancer Haven’s, Clinical & Research Director, said: “For the last 17 years, Breast Cancer Haven has been providing its tailored support to people affected by breast cancer. We know that this support has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of people going through the experience of breast cancer. Our supportive therapies are designed to reduce the emotional and physical side-effects of the disease.

“We are delighted to be working with Maggie’s who share our ethos of providing care and support to cancer patients in a tranquil and relaxing environment. We hope our way of working will complement the excellent services already provided by Maggie’s.”

People are invited to either call or email Breast Cancer Haven to make their first appointment with a healthcare professional.

Breast Cancer Haven supports women and their families via a network of six welcoming centres across the UK and through an expanding network of other services. The charity is there to provide women affected by breast cancer with the support that treatment alone can’t.
