What are cancer information and support drop-in sessions?

A diagnosis of breast cancer and the treatment that follows can be a traumatic and uncertain experience. We understand that your need for information and support doesn’t end when treatment finishes. It may not be appropriate to share certain worries with friends or family and sometimes it is not possible to speak to your hospital team. Our cancer information and support manager provides weekly sessions where you can drop in for an informal chat. No appointment is necessary and you can always phone if you can’t come in person.

What can cancer information and support drop-in sessions help with?

These sessions can help answer questions about your diagnosis or cancer treatment and you can discuss worries or concerns. We can provide you with information tailored to your current needs. Speaking to one of our specialists can clarify questions that you need to take back to your hospital team.

Drop in sessions

We have regular drop in sessions available and these are ideal for brief questions. If you need longer or have more complex issues we may suggest you make an appointment.

Individual cancer information appointments

Our Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Manager is available for individual appointments Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you are unable to attend in person we can arrange a telephone appointment. We have another Macmillan professional who can help you with Welfare Benefits and Money Advice.
