Brian Wilcox

On Friday 10th June Ian Peake, Principal of Herefordshire and Ludlow College, will join the Chairman of Herefordshire Council, Councillor Brian Wilcox to swim 90 lengths of the pool at Wye Leisure - one length for every year of the Queen’s life – to raise funds for The Haven.

90 lengths is the equivalent of swimming one mile.

The Haven in Hereford receives no government funding, and relies completely on charitable donations and fundraising activities to raise the money it needs each year to provide its exceptional level of service.  In the 2015 - 2016 financial year, The Haven in Hereford needs to raise some £330,000.

Councillor Wilcox has been a huge supporter of The Haven in Hereford since his Mayoral Year in 2012, when he selected The Haven to be his charity of the year, along with Robocap, a charity providing computerised surgical equipment for operating on men with prostate cancer. He raised over £42,000 through the course of his year, over £21,000 of which supported the work of The Haven.  During his Mayoral Year, Ian joined Brian in swimming 50 lengths of the pool at Wye Leisure.  This year they hope to take that challenge to a new level.

Please support Ian in this challenge by donating today.
