Linda Marie Barnett I had no signs or symptoms of having breast cancer so following a routine mammogram in October 2016 and then two lots of biopsies I was given the very frightening diagnosis in November that I had breast cancer. I had surgery in December and was then introduced to The Haven by a fellow breast cancer survivor, following a consultation with Kerrie, I started treatments after I had finished my radiotheraphy. I have found the help and support from these treatments and the staff at The Haven invaluable

The Haven Wessex is situated in the village of Titchfield in Hampshire. The Haven is there for anyone [women and men] who have been diagnosed with primary breast cancer aswell as living with secondary breast cancer. The Haven Breast Cancer support is an amazing Charity which offers a free programme of care supporting people with Breast Cancer and their families. Staffed by specialist teams, Breast Cancer Wessex provide counselling, information and complementary therapies before, during and after medical treatment.

1 in 8 women and 1 in 300 men will develop breast cancer in their lifetime in the UK. These are scary statistics, but Breast Cancer Haven are doing all that they can to ensure that nobody faces it alone. There is always a welcoming smile when you enter the Haven or a welcoming voice at the end of the phone when you call. My target is not very high on this fundraiser due to the short notice but I do plan to do others for The Haven, but I am hoping my target will be reached easily and surpassed, please donate whatever you can for this invaluable service provided by the Haven

I will be participating in the 20km walk of this event [Just walk the Divide] on Saturday 13th May 2017
