Step 1. Decide what type of gift you’d like to leave

  • A share of your estate (residuary gift). After gifts to family and friends (and other expenses), you can leave what is left to Breast Cancer Haven.
  • A specified amount (pecuniary gift). You can simply specify an amount of money you’d like to leave to Breast Cancer Haven in your will.
  • Items of value (specific gift). Rather than leaving money, you could leave items of value – for example property, shares or jewellery.
  • A gift a generation later (reversionary gift). You leave your estate to your dependents while they are living, but after they pass away you can specify that all, or part of it, will revert to Breast Cancer Haven.

Step 2. State in your will that you would like to leave a gift to us

We recommend using a solicitor to make sure the wording is correct. If you don’t have a solicitor, it’s easy to find one locally on The Law Society website.

Your solicitor will ask you for:

  • Our full name – Breast Cancer Haven (previous names include The Haven and the Haven Trust).
  • Our registered charity number: 1061726
  • Our address: Breast Cancer Haven, Effie Road, London SW6 1TB

Ideally we would like to keep gifts 'unrestricted'. This allows us to use the gift in an area of the charity where it is needed most. However if you would like to talk more about your gift, or would like just one of our centres to benefit, please contact us. We can talk about the options and wording, to make sure your gift is used as you intend.

If you have already included us in your will, we’re very grateful and would love you to let us know so we can thank you personally.
