We are delighted to announce an exciting new project and collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies UK & Ireland.

This partnership sees the development and delivery of a beautiful new garden in honour of Evelyn H. Lauder at Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands, funded by a generous grant from The Estée Lauder Companies UK & Ireland. The garden has been designed by RHS multi-award-winning designers, Ruth Gwynn and Rupert Keys.

What is the garden project?

The new garden marks the culmination of a successful partnership between Breast Cancer Haven and The Estée Lauder Companies and will be named the ‘Evelyn H. Lauder Garden’ after the founder of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign. The garden is expected to be completed on 21 June 2018.

The Evelyn H. Lauder garden will be an extra space for relaxation and healing for our visitors and will add colour to the centre through the manifestation of peonies, roses, irises and jasmine. We further hope that by encouraging centre visitors to tend to the garden we will be able to help lower stress and improve self-esteem, which is crucial following a diagnosis of breast cancer.

The private garden will be accessible to all visitors of the West Midlands centre, offering space for yoga and meditation classes, relaxation and outdoor seating. In addition, fresh produce for the centre’s kitchen will be grown in raised beds in the garden.

Pamela Healy OBE, CEO of Breast Cancer Haven said: “Ruth’s aim with The Evelyn H. Lauder Garden is to capture the essence of Breast Cancer Haven’s support services and re-create this in a visual and sensory form for our visitors.”

Anna Bartle, Vice President of The Estée Lauder Companies UK & Ireland’s Breast Cancer Campaign said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Breast Cancer Haven on a beautiful new garden at the West Midlands centre, in honour of Evelyn H. Lauder, as we mark the 25th Anniversary of the pink ribbon and The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign. In the UK alone, nearly £10 million has been raised to support Breast Cancer Research Foundation-funded research and our UK & Ireland business has been collaborating with Breast Cancer Haven over a number of years. Our hope is that the new garden will provide a tranquil haven for the visitors and their families to relax in and enjoy.”

Why do corporate partnerships matter?

Like any charity, corporate partnerships are vital to Breast Cancer Haven to enable us to continue to do what we do best – supporting people who have been affected by breast cancer. We rely on the support of local, regional, national and even international organisations to help us create a positive impact and provide a comprehensive service to women who are going through or have completed treatment for breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Haven believes in inspiring partnerships that provide real business benefits with a personal touch. Forming relationships this way enables us to plan for the future, expand as a charity, reach people who may not have heard of us before and raise our profile.

Partnerships are mutually beneficial – they don’t just help Breast Cancer Haven. Partnerships help to raise the profile of the organisation as they receive alignment with a trusted, friendly charity brand. They can physically see how their raised funds will support our charity and they can showcase the great charitable work they are doing with their own customers. It also enables them to engage with new customers and increase customer loyalty.

How can organisations support Breast Cancer Haven?

Organisations can support us in various ways. This can include match funding, auction item donations, fundraising event sponsorship, and payroll giving or participating in a fundraising challenge.

This can help contribute to an organisations’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and help boost their ethical status.
