Reiki What is reiki? Reiki is a gentle touch therapy developed in Japan to help calm, relax and balance the body. It works with the body’s electro-magnetic energy or ‘ki’ in Japanese (as in acupuncture, reflexology and shiatsu). During a treatment you can lie on a treatment couch or sit fully clothed while the therapist’s hands are placed lightly on or over different areas of your body needing treatment. What can reiki help with? Most Visitors say that reiki helped very much and they feel much calmer and more relaxed. Research findings into the benefits of reiki in a number of medical conditions, including cancer, suggest that it may help with pain, anxiety, stress and fatigue. Number and length of appointments A course of three or four reiki treatments are recommended, each reiki treatment lasts 40 to 50 minutes. Important information Reiki can be given at any time. It is advisable not to have another body treatment on the same day to allow for maximum benefit. Wear loose comfortable clothes that you can easily relax in. After a treatment you may feel tired temporarily so allow yourself time to rest afterwards.
